Organization and Security : HelpIndex Navigation Printing Site organization EvergreenHill-Images.com is hosted by the SmugMug photo-sharing service. EvergreenHill-Images provides the images. SmugMug provides an easy way for you to view the images and to purchase print copies or other things like mouse pads or coffee cups imprinted with an image. The SmugMug service makes the prints (or mouse pad, or tee-shirt, or puzzle, etc.) and ships them directly to you. The assignment of photos to galleries is of necessity a bit arbitrary. For example, some of the "travel" images could just as well been put in the "people" gallery. Please explore all the galleries to find the images that satisfy you. Security The SmugMug shopping cart is a secure site where you may use your credit card to complete the purchase. Any information you enter – like street or e-mail addresses – is used only to complete your purchase and will not be used for mailing lists. Using the shopping cart After making your print selection(s), you may return to view more images; your print selection will remain in your “shopping cart.” Additional print requests will also go into the cart. At checkout, you will have options to change or cancel your requests. Only after you complete the purchase process (giving credit card and address details) will the order be final. Until you receive an email confirming shipment, you may contact me at the address below if you want to cancel; in most cases, I can intervene and stop the order.

Navigating the site : HelpIndex Organization/Security Printing How to use this site Navigation tips In general, point your mouse at an image and click. From the Home page, you will then see the available categories (like “people” or “nature”) of images. Click on a category that interests you and you will then see thumbnail versions of the photo galleries. Last, click on a gallery thumbnail to see the actual gallery. In summary, the site is organized as: Home > Categories > Galleries > Specific Gallery of Images. In a gallery, small thumbnail versions of the images appear on the left and a larger version of the selected thumbnail appears on the right. Click on a specific thumbnail of interest to see its full version. Or click on the full version at the right to see the image full screen. Near the upper left of the screen, you may click on the name of the category to back up and select another of its galleries to view. Or click on the “Image Categories” button at the top to select a new category for viewing. Note the “Home” button near the top center of the page. Clicking it will take you back to the introductory page of EvergreenHill-Images.com. But once you select images for purchase and get into the shopping cart and see the SmugMug logo at the page top, then the “Home” button will instead take you to the SmugMug home page. Slide Show To easily scan through all the images in a gallery, click on the “slideshow” button in the upper right corner of the screen. All the images in the gallery will be shown at full screen resolution, one after the other. Moving your mouse or pressing the “Esc” key will end the slideshow. Copyright Notice All images shown are copyrighted. But, the copyright notice shown on the screen display of each large image will NOT appear on any prints that you order. Sharing images with friends If you wish to tell a friend about these images, please send them the "URL" address of this website, www.EvergreenHill-Images.com

Ordering Prints : HelpIndex Organization/Security Navigation How to order prints Print size/finish options Why the "processing" delay? Buy one or more sizes of a specific image When viewing an image, notice the “Buy” item near the upper right of your screen. Click it and from the drop-down list, select "This photo" if you want to order a copy of that particular photo. The SmugMug print selection screen will appear and you may select the sizes, surface finishes (glossy, matte or lustre) and quantities of prints that you want. Note that the page has tabs near the top that separately show “Prints” and “Merchandise” (coffee cups, etc.). Also, each page has a button to click if you want to return to the gallery to look at other images. Buy the same size of several images If you want the same size print of several images in the current gallery, click “Buy” and then from the drop-down list select "Photos in this gallery." For a print size and finish that you may adjust, you can easily pick one or more images from the gallery. Copyright notice All images shown are copyrighted. But the copyright notice (“watermark”) shown on the screen display of each large image will NOT appear on any prints that you order. Selecting a print size What is the “best” print size? Aside from the general size that you want (example: small being about 5 inches, large perhaps 15 inches), the “best” print size will depend on the image. If the image is basically square (same height as width), then choose a 5” by 5” or a 20” by 20” print to fully display the image. If the image is a typical rectangle in shape, 50% wider than it is high (or 50% higher than it is wide), then a 4” by 6” or 12” by 18” print will be best. A few of my images are twice as wide as they are high. Then use one of the “Other” sizes like 5” by 10” or 10” by 20”. If you choose a print size that is not an exact match to the image’s proportions, then the shopping cart will warn you and suggest “cropping” options to best display the image on your selected paper size. In some cases, "None" may be the best cropping option. Size/finish options For bigger sized prints, there is now the option for a "Giclee" quality. This is a higher quality but more expensive alternative. For a few images, not all print sizes are available. When you ask to buy a photo, the larger sizes may be grayed out with the message “The photo is too small…” This happens because the image needed extensive cropping and the result has too low a spatial resolution to make a satisfactory large print. Special orders: unique print surfaces and framed images At extra cost and delay, other print surfaces, “silk” for example, are available by special order. Likewise, any image can be completely mounted and framed, with or without a mat, using archival (acid-free) quality backing and an UV protective acrylic cover. Contact me at the address below for details and pricing. Why the "Processing" delay? When you place an order, at checkout the SmugMug cart will tell you that there may be up to 9 days delay in processing the order while I “proof” the final image. Why? As soon as you place an order, SmugMug sends me an email notification. I will review the options for color rendition and perhaps cropping to be sure you get the best possible print. If there is a problem, we will contact you to work out a solution. If there is no problem, then your order goes to the printer right away. You will get an email confirmation when the order is filled. Of course, if I am out on a field trip taking more pictures, it may be up to 9 days before I see the message. Thanks for your patience.
